Students are prompted, "In this course, we are starting your journey in identifying and conceptualizing who we are as nurses. The hope is that is will stimulate you to think on who YOU are as a nurse. In starting the journey, one must identify their own worldview. Write a short paper (maximum is three pages) identifying your world view. You must have at least one scholarly source."
Students seem bewildered by what a worldview is. However, they do have a voice-over-powerpoint given by one of their profs that talks about worldviews. Many of them will ask about worldviews in chat, but many folks working chat do not know what a worldview is exactly and the students have difficulty articulating it. A worldview can be your religion (many students write from a Christian perspective or an atheist perspective), values that you hold, or just your general approach to life (positive attitude, for example).
